Marketing Executive

The Company is seeking to recruit a mature, reliable and energetic individual for the following position in the Commercial Department:

Reporting to the Commercial Director and the Head of Communications, the Marketing Executive will be managing existing products and driving the development of new products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Company’s existing portfolio of products
  • Ensure that existing products meet the objectives which have been set at launch (including sales or other objectives)
  • Continue the development of existing products thus, continuously improving the service offered to customers
  • Identify and develop new products in line with the Company’s business strategy
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of the product from ideation to market
  • Develop technical briefs detailing the product requirements which briefs will be used by the Company’s IT suppliers
  • Liaise with marketing and communications team to define the go-to-market strategy by helping in the definition of the product’s positioning in the market, pricing and customer segments
  • Act as the internal and external champion of all the Company’s products
  • Report to senior management the performance of all the Company’s products

The ideal candidates will:

  • The ideal candidate should be in possession of a Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a Degree in Statistics and Operations Research, or a Degree in Maths and Statistics, or a similar degree
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Outgoing individual with strong networking skills
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Strong business acumen and marketing skills
  • Possess a technical background
  • Excellent command of the English and Maltese languages, both written and spoken
  • Pragmatic approach

Bus Drivers

Malta Public Transport aims to continue improving its service to the public. In order to achieve this, the company is looking to recruit Bus Drivers.

In order to work as a bus driver, you would need:

  • A Category B Licence for at least one year (training will be given to obtain D licence)
  • Category D Licence is an asset (training will be provided if necessary*)
  • Basic spoken English
  • To be over 21 years of age
  • To submit a police conduct and pass a medical examination and driving assessment

Terms and Conditions:

  • An indefinite contract with 6 months' probation
  • A salary of up to €6.73 per hour
  • Possibility of overtime at a higher rate
  • Night shift allowances
  • Annual leave, sick leave and other special leave entitlements
  • Health Insurance
  • Free use of the public transport system for spouse and child/children
  • Employment is based on a 5/6 day rotating shift work

Are you willing to move to Malta to become a bus driver? If so, kindly note that the company is willing to ensure a smooth transition to Malta.

Besides being greeted at the airport, there will be transport provided on the first day of work, as well as assistance with all logistics in relation to obtaining required documents for Maltese tax system, residence permit scheme, social security and any other related requirements.

*In order to obtain a D licence one needs to be a resident in Malta for 6 months.

Team Supervisor

The Company is seeking to recruit a mature, reliable and energetic individual for the position of Team Supervisor in the Engineering Workshop.Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Team Supervisor will coordinate and supervise required works to achieve established goals for the company in the workshop, and assure the established planning by the Engineering Manager is accomplished by addressing the company standard levels on reliability and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Follow the Engineering Manager instructions
  • Diagnose breakdowns and incidences
  • Assign work to the Mechanics and Electricians on duty
  • Supervise the technical team performance, up to the required standard
  • Make sure that staff complete the required work and their job card
  • Fill out job cards or any other documentation related to the job to fully assure traceability of works done
  • Ensure effective cleaning and organization of work areas and tools at all times, including hazardous waste management
  • Ensure compliance to policies namely security, health and safety, data protection, quality assurance and eco-friendly measures established in the area of responsibility
  • Carry out other duties that can  be allocated or delegated by Management

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum qualifications: Advanced City and Guilds or equivalent qualification, or 5 years experience
  • Minimum experience: 3 years

Shunter

The Company is seeking to recruit a mature, reliable and energetic individual for the following position in the Engineering Workshop:Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, the Shunter will be assigned to move, fuel and give adblue to the company vehicles during the logistic process performed during the night, and whenever is required.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Driving buses to go through the fuel and adblue process
  • External washing of buses with resources the Company allocates
  • Fuel buses and giving them adblue, when required
  • Park buses in the places designated by the Fleet Supervisor
  • Movement of buses between depots, and between each depot and Luqa workshop for maintenance and repair tasks
  • Fill out job cards or any other documentation related to the job to fully assure traceability of works done
  • Ensure effective cleaning and organization of work areas and tools at all times, including hazardous wastes management
  • Follow company Health and Safety Policy
  • Carry out duties allocated or delegated by the Fleet Supervisor

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be organised and able to communicate effectively
  • Be able to work in a team effectively
  • Have parking and maneouvering skills
  • Must be in possessio of Category D licence
  • Must be available to work night shifts

VDL Assistant Controller

The Company is seeking to recruit a mature, reliable and energetic individual for the following position in the Services Department:

To ensure proper operation of planned services and promptly co-ordinate resolutions to arising incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations and attend as required to all incidents, changes and problems in the transport services
  • Assisting with the management of service in terms of use of bus fleet and drivers
  • Accurate reporting of issues and problems required
  • Ensure quality of service in terms of Operations of Service

The role will involve shift work including evenings.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be organised and able to communicate effectively
  • Have a positive, energetic attitude with the ability to find solutions to occurring problems
  • Have the ability to work within a team
  • Be assertive, but not aggressive, to deal with difficult situations
  • Be diplomatic and able to make good judgements in stressful situations
  • Be proficient (verbal & written) in at least Maltese & English
  • Be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
  • Have at least MQF Level 1 standard of education (school leaving certificate)
  • Be computer literate

Previous experience in transport operations will be considered an asset.

Sales Agent

The Company is seeking to recruit a mature, reliable and energetic individual for the following position in the Commercial Department.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Be knowledgable of Malta Public Transport fares;
  • Sell all available fares and credit top ups from the various sales outlets;
  • Handle cash, applications, top ups, and close out sales at the end of each working shift according to current reconciliation Sales Policy;
  • Maintain self organisation on stocks and any other materials required to perform duties effectively;
  • Answer customers' questions and promote customer satisfaction
  • Effectively communicate our policies to customers and ensure this knowledge is current and accurate according to Company revisions and updates
  • Project a safe and welcoming attitude towards customers

The ideal candidates will:

  • Be a team player;

Facilities Manager

The Company is seeking to recruit a mature, reliable and energetic individual for the following position in the Engineering Department:

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Project Management: Plan, coordinate and execute all maintenance, repairs and refurbishments of company infrastructures, equipment, buildings, electrical and HVAC systems
  • Assist in the planning, designing and delivering of new projects
  • Cost control on the ongoing projects
  • Regularly report progress on each job/ project and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Director
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Perform inspections regularly to determine the need for repairs and maintenance
  • Review utilities consumption and minimize cost
  • Supervise staff members and resources assigned to the infrastructures area
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, and building security
  • Promote a Health and Safety culture within the business
  • Identify staff that require on-going training and implement training opportunities to ensure their skills are improved
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

The ideal candidates will:

  • Preferably have a tertiary level of education
  • Preferably be in possession of Electricity Licence A and B
  • Preferably have two years working experience as Facilities Manager, Facilities Executive or in a similar position
  • In possession of Driving Licence B
  • Excellent project management, organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to deal and negotiate with the suppliers certified by the company
  • Well-versed in workshop engineering operations and facilities management
  • Must have good verbal and written communications skills
  • Ideally have the ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Italian however, this will only be considered as a plus
