Special Public Transport Service for Birgu Fest

During the night of 8th October 2016, Malta Public Transport will be operating a special service to ease travel to and from Birgu during the annual Birgu Fest.

The Birgu Fest highlights the town’s historical and architectural magnificence by lighting up the streets with thousands of candles. Those attending can visit various places which will be open throughout the night like museums and churches.

“Events like the Birgu Fest enhance Malta’s calendar of cultural activities, and we are glad to be offering a special service to those attending.” stated Daniel Grech, Commercial Director at Malta Public Transport. “During such events we continue to encourage people to use the bus so that we reduce the traffic congestion and contribute to a cleaner environment.”

Malta Public Transport will be operating the following routes:

Departure from Valletta Terminus every hour from 20:15 to 00:15

Valletta Bus Terminus – Bombi – Blata l-Bajda – Paola – Birgu Square – Café Riche

Departure from Birgu every hour from 20:50 to 00:50

Birgu Square – Café Riche – Paola – Blata l-Bajda – Bombi – Valletta Bus Terminus

The fares will be as follows: €3.00 in cash on-board the bus; €2.50 when paying with a tallinja card; two journeys when paying with the 12 Single Day Journeys card; and there will be no extra charge when using the Explore Card.
