Replacing your tallinja Card - Malta Public Transport

Lost, stolen, expired and damaged cards

If your tallinja card is lost, stolen, or damaged, you may choose one of the options below:

  1. Option 1 - Visit one of our Sales and Information offices, either at Valletta Terminus, Bugibba Terminus, our Sliema Sales Office at The Ferries in Sliema or the Welcomer's Hall at Malta International Airport, and have the card reprinted. The administration fee is €5.00 when the card is returned. For lost or stolen cards, the administration fee is €15.00. The balance on the Lost/Stolen card, as at the time of reporting, shall be transferred to the new replacement card. In order to have yourcard replaced, and for security reasons, we would require a photo ID or passport as confirmation of your identity. No cards shall be re-issued without this proof of ID.
  2. Option 2 - customer can opt to receive the reprinted Tallinja Card by post for an extra charge of €2.87 (the cost of registered mail). If this option is chosen, onboard tickets will not be refunded.

It is important that you report a stolen card immediately to reduce the risk of the card being used by someone else. Once a tallinja card is reported as lost, damaged, or stolen, it is blacklisted, and it cannot be used again, even if it is found after being blacklisted.

If the card is expired, due to the cardholder no longer being eligible for a card type, the cardholder may order a replacement card at any one of our Sales and Information Offices at a charge of €5.00 administrative fee, in which case. In exchange of the new valid card, the cardholder will be required to surrender his/her card to one of our sales agents.

Non-personalised cards are not replaceable, and customers will not be refunded for lostor stolen, non personalised cards.
