Malta Public Transport Introduces Airport Direct Buses

Malta Public Transport is excited to offer a convenient and efficient new service: the Airport Direct Bus. This service provides a comfortable, frequent, and quick connection between Malta International Airport and some of the island’s most popular destinations, including:

  • TD1 (Rabat, Buġibba, Mellieħa, Ċirkewwa)
  • TD2 (St. Julian's, Pembroke)
  • TD3 (Gżira, Sliema, St. Julian's)
  • TD4 (Valletta, Fast Ferry to Gozo)

Convenient Airport Transfers for Travellers

Designed for your comfort, the Airport Direct buses are equipped with comfortable seatsUSB charging portsfree WiFi, and plenty of space for luggage. Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, you can count on a smooth and enjoyable ride to your destination.

The Airport Direct Bus is included as part of your Unlimited Travel Card, meaning you can use the service at no extra cost if you already have this card. Alternatively, if you’re not using the Unlimited Travel Card, you can pay just €3 per passenger with either cash or contactless payment onboard. Personalised tallinja card holders can benefit from a reduced fare of €1.50 on all Airport Direct routes.

There’s no better way to start or end your trip in Malta with a reliable, affordable, and comfortable airport transfer. 

Additionally, there are several other bus routes that connect to key locations around the island.

  • Buses 117, 135, 208, and 218 go from the airport to Mater Dei Hospital and the University of Malta/Campus Hub.
  • Routes 71, 72, 73 connect the airport to Żurrieq, Safi and Qrendi and 201 connects the airport to Rabat. Routes 71,72, 73 and 201 pass by the airport and stop at the Ċintra bus stop.
  • Route 214 connects the airport to Buġibba through Tarxien, Marsa, Balzan, Ta' Qali, Rabat, Mosta, and Qawra.
  • Route 88 connects the airport to Valletta through Gudja, Ħal Għaxaq, Ħal Tarxien, Raħal Ġdid, and Marsa.
