Special bus services for Valletta Carnival 2025

Malta Public Transport is increasing bus service frequencies on Saturday, 1 March, and Sunday, 2 March 2025, to accommodate the expected increase in passenger demand during the Valletta Carnival celebrations.

The following routes are over and above the regular schedule:

  • 13A: Valletta (Bay A13) to San Ġiljan, running every hour from 12:15 to 20:15 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 42: Valletta (Bay B5) to Tal-Pietà, running every 30 minutes from 12:00 to 21:00 over and above the regular schedule.
  • TD13: Valletta (Bay C2) to Pembroke Park & Ride, operating every 40 minutes from 13:00 to 22:00 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 31: Valletta (Bay C1) to Buġibba, running every hour from 11:30 to 20:30 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 46: Valletta (Bay B3) to Siġġiewi, operating every 45 minutes from 12:00 to 20:45 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 48: Valletta (Bay A10) to Ċirkewwa, running every hour from 12:15 to 21:15 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 71: Valletta (Bay B7) to Żurrieq, operating every 50 minutes from 11:45 to 20:45 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 82: Valletta (Bay C5) to Birżebbuġa, running every 35 minutes from 12:00 to 21:00 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 91: Valletta (Bay A8) to Marsaskala, operating every 40 minutes from 12:30 to 21:30 over and above the regular schedule.
  • 61: Valletta (Bay C4) to Ħaż-Żebbuġ, running every hour from 12:35 to 20:35 over and above the regular schedule.

Furthermore, Malta Public Transport will be operating special services for the Nadur Carnival in Gozo between Friday, 28 February, and Sunday, 2 March 2025.

On Friday, a direct service will run between Victoria and Nadur every 30 minutes from 20:00 hrs to 00:00 hrs. A shuttle service will also operate between Mgarr Ferry and Nadur with each scheduled ferry, including additional crossings, from 19:00 hrs to 00:00 hrs. Special services will depart from Nadur at 01:00 hrs, serving various localities across Gozo.

On Saturday, the direct service between Victoria and Nadur will run every 15 minutes from 20:00 hrs to 00:00 hrs. The shuttle service from Mgarr Ferry will operate under the same schedule as the previous day. Special services will depart from Nadur at 01:00 hrs and 02:30 hrs.

On Sunday, the direct service between Victoria and Nadur will run every 30 minutes from 20:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs. Special services from Nadur to all localities will depart at 00:00 hrs.

Passengers are encouraged to check the detailed timetables available on the tallinja app for exact departure times and stop locations.

All personalised Tallinja Card holders can travel free of charge on Day, Night, and Special Services. Passengers without a valid Tallinja Card can purchase cash tickets at €3 per trip from the bus ticket machine. Tallinja Direct route fares are €3.00 for cash payments on board and €1.50 when using a personalised Tallinja Card.
