Malta Public Transport boosts route frequencies

Malta Public Transport announces added trips to a number of popular routes as well new Night Route and Tallinja Direct (TD) options. Market research conducted by the bus company indicates that higher frequencies make public transport a more attractive option and the additional trips aim to encourage more people to use public transport.

The frequencies increase journeys across the network, operating as many as 12 trips per hour along some of the busiest directions such as the Sliema-St Julian’s corridor.

Popular Night Route and TD services return on Friday July 2, 2021:

  • Night Route N13 between Valletta and St Julian’s will operate all week from 23:10 to 01:40, with departures every 30 minutes.
  • Night Route N212 between Sliema and Buġibba will operate on Fridays and Saturdays from 23:10 to 1:20, with departures every 30 minutes.
  • Route TD13 between Valletta and Buġibba via St Julian’s will operate all week from 08:05 to 21:05, with departures every 30 minutes.

Three new routes in Gozo start operating from Friday July 2, 2021:

  • Night Route N301 between Mġarr (Gozo) and Victoria will operate extra trips on Fridays and Saturdays at 23:15 and 23:45.
  • Route TD30 between Mġarr (Gozo) and Xlendi will operate every 30 minutes all week, synchronised with the fast ferry schedules.
  • Route TD31 between Mġarr (Gozo) and Marsalforn will operate every 30 minutes all week, synchronised with the fast ferry schedules.

Added frequencies on the following routes with effect from Sunday July 4, 2021:

  • Route 15 between Valletta and Sliema
  • Route 21 between Valletta and Sliema
  • Route 22 between Valletta and Birkirkara
  • Route 41 between Valletta and Ċirkewwa
  • Route 42 between Valletta and Ċirkewwa
  • Route 44 between Valletta and Għajn Tuffieħa
  • Route 45 between Valletta and Buġibba
  • Route 48 between Valletta and Buġibba
  • Route 91 between Valletta and Marsascala
  • Route 94 between Valletta and Xgħajra
  • Route 124 between Senglea and Marsascala
  • Route X4 between Valletta and Birżebbuġa
  • Route 322 Mġarr (Gozo) and Marsalforn
