Rewarding excellence: the new Advanced Drivers programme
Malta Public Transport has launched a new programme to recognise the efforts made by many of the company’s drivers who strive for excellence in everything they do. The new Advanced Drivers programme will reward the best drivers who make an effort to provide an efficient and safe bus service.
“This initiative demonstrates our commitment to continue investing in our people,” explained Konrad Pulé, General Manager of Malta Public Transport. “We believe that our people are essential to continue improving the quality of service being delivered to customers. We want to motivate our best drivers by rewarding them and sharing their success with their colleagues and our customers, encouraging other drivers to follow their example.”
The first 22 Advanced Drivers were selected because they have more experience, and have a good and safe performance record with no blameworthy accidents. These drivers are customer-oriented and set a good example by adhering to Malta Public Transport policies and procedures at all times.
Following an intensive training programme, this first group of Advanced Drivers received a certificate of acheivement from Services Director Amaia Larrea, Human Resources Director Roderick Bajada and Konrad Pulé.
Once appointed, Advanced Drivers need to maintain consistently high standards to retain their appointment. Another 20 Advanced Drivers will be appointed by the company in the coming days.
