05/07/2017

Malta Public Transport announces the launch of the Disco Bus, a new service that offers a connection between the popular night-life and entertainment venues in Malta: St. Julian’s, Sliema, Uno and Gianpula Village.

This is a weekend service which departs from St. Julian’s every 30 minutes, stopping in Spinola, Sliema, Uno (in Ta’ Qali) and terminating at Gianpula Village, with trips departing between 22:40 and 01:40 on Friday and Saturday; and between 20:20 and 22:50 on Sunday. The return trip follows the same route (in reverse), departing from Gianpula Village between 01:30 and 04:00 on Friday and Saturday; and between 22:40 and 01:10 on Sunday.

“We are constantly developing new services that meet the travel requirements of our broad range of customers,” explained Daniel Grech, Commercial Director at Malta Public Transport. “Designed with our passengers in mind, the Disco Bus offers a safe, cheap and easy way to travel between popular clubs around the island throughout the night.”

Tallinja card holders can benefit from reduced rates of €2.50 per trip on the Disco Bus, while cash tickets can be purchased on board the bus for €3.00 per trip. Customers can also use the 12 Single Days Journey card, where two trips (the equivalent of €2.50) will be deducted each time the card is validated on the Disco Bus. There is no additional charge for customers using the all-inclusive ExplorePlus card, while the Explore cards cannot be used for this service.
