06/02/2019

Malta Public Transport has announced changes to the Tallinja Direct services, which link popular localities in Malta. The company operates around 1,500 Tallinja Direct bus trips per week, which are being provided over and above contracted service.

The changes are as follows:

  • A new route TD3 from Airport to Bugibba began operating this week.
  • Routes TD13 (Valletta – St Julian’s) and TD9 (Valletta – Buġibba) have been merged into one route from Valletta – Buġibba via St Julian’s as TD13 with a 20 minute frequency.
  • Route TD17 from the Pembroke P&R to University has been extended to Mater Dei Hospital

The fares for the Tallinja Direct routes are as follows: €3.00 if you are paying Cash on board the bus, €2.50 (or two trips) if you are paying with a 12-Journey Card, or €1.50 if you are paying with a personalised Tallinja Card. Personalised Tallinja Card holders are reminded that Tallinja Direct journeys do not contribute towards the automatic weekly or monthly capping.
