Facebook Mother’s Day competition
Enter our Mother’s Day photography competition for the chance to win a €100 top-up on your tallinja card. Send us your picture, which must be between 1Mb and 3Mb in size, along with your names, address and telephone number to competitions@publictransport.com.mt.
Official rules
1. ELIGIBILITY
The Mother’s Day photography competition is open only to legal residents of Malta who are at least fourteen (14) years old. Employees of Malta Public Transport, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of those employees, are not eligible to enter.
2. Administrator
The photography competition is administered by Malta Public Transport. This Photo Contest is in no way sponsored by, endorsed by, administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
3. ENTRY PERIOD
The photography competition begins at on Thursday 28 April, 2016 and ends at on Wednesday 4 May, 2016 (the “Entry Period”). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible. Administrator’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Photo Contest.
4. WHAT TO ENTER
For our Mother’s Day photography competition, we’d like to see you travelling with your mother on our buses. Capture a selfie moment with your mother that demonstrates your relationship! Malta Public Transport is committed to improving customer experience and we want to see it through your eyes.
4.1 ELIGIBILITY
To ensure eligibility for the contest, please submit files between 1MB and 3MB in size. Smaller files will not be uploaded, while larger files may be rejected by our email system.
Entries are to be submitted electronically in a .JPEG .jpg, or.png form.
Entries should include metadata if at all possible. Caption information should include:
- Name of entrant
- Name of Mother
- Bus route
Previously published material for which non-exclusive rights were granted may be entered as long as you still maintain the right to grant us a license (see "Your Rights" below). You must be able to disclose when and where the photo appeared previously to The Nature Conservancy upon request.
If you choose to include other people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from the individuals depicted, and must be able to provide copies of those releases to Malta Public Transport upon request.
The following submissions are ineligible:
- Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including but not limited to copyright.
- Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent or other objectionable or inappropriate content.
- Images that involve putting any individual in danger.
- Images taken prior to 1 January, 2016.
Malta Public Transport shall determine entry eligibility in its sole and absolute discretion.
5. HOW TO ENTER
All images must be submitted to competitions@publictransport.com.mt including your name, email and other information about your photo submission.
You may enter once. The Administrator reserves the right to reject any additional entries or entries that do not comply with these Official Rules.
By entering, you indicate your unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Official Rules and the Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding. You cannot win a prize unless you comply with all requirements in these Official Rules.
Entrants may be asked to supplement their submission (such as with a paragraph about their photo or the highest resolution version of their photo) anytime on or after July 1, 2016.
6. JUDGING
Photos will be judged on originality, composition, artistic merit and overall impact. Judging will be conducted by a panel of Malta Public Transport employees and may include guest judges to be selected by Malta Public Transport at its sole discretion (the “Panel”). The Panel will evaluate all valid entries and pick one winner.
7. POTENTIAL WINNER REQUIREMENTS
Except where prohibited, a potential winner may be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility, including proof of age, and liability/publicity release within 3 days. If a potential winner is a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian will be required to sign the documents on his/her behalf. If a potential winner fails to return these documents on time, an alternate potential winner may be selected in his/her place.
8. PRIZES
Malta Public Transport will award the following prize:
One (1) winner will receive a €100 top-up on the winner’s tallinja card and a €100 top-up on the winner’s mother’s tallinja card

10. YOUR RIGHTS
You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit - including ownership if applicable.
If you submit a photograph to enter the Photo Contest, you grant Malta Public Transport a royalty-free, nonexclusive right during the Photo Contest to:
- Display the photograph on the Malta Public Transport website
- Display the photograph on the Mother’s Day photography competition Facebook Album
- Allow third-parties to share the photograph on the following social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
If your photograph is a winner or an honorable mention, you grant Malta Public Transport a royalty-free, nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:
- Use the photograph on the Internet and in Social Media.
- Use the photograph in Malta Public Transport’s internal and external communications materials including but not limited to web sites and web publications, fact sheets, fund raising publications, advertising, multimedia, presentation and membership services, annual report and Nature Conservancy magazine.
- Retain a digital copy of your photograph.
