Service Information

Our aim is to provide safe, reliable and affordable bus service in Malta Gozo. 

With more than 460 buses, our fleet is one of Europe’s youngest and most modern. All our buses are fitted with Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines with the latest diesel emission technology.

Easily identified by their distinctive green and white colour, our buses are not only comfortable, and environmentally friendly, but also ensure our passengers benefit from the highest levels of safety throughout their journey. Our bus drivers wear a uniform together with an identification tag. They are professionally trained and always ready to assist you.

We operate daily between 05.30hrs and 23.00hrs while a night service also runs on Friday and Saturday nights as well as on public holidays and feast days.

Apart from our bus service we have also introduced our premium Tallinja On Demand service which operates every day between 5.00 am and midnight. You can book your seat, pick up and drop off by using our free Tallinja App.

With bus stops located all across Malta and Gozo, you can be sure to find a bus to and from almost anywhere making our bus service an easy and environmentally friendly travel option in Malta and Gozo, both to regular commuters or to anyone visiting the Maltese islands.

Different routes link the island’s major hubs to various destinations. This includes Valletta, the Mater Dei Hospital, University, Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal, Bugibba, Marsa Park and Ride, Pembroke Park and Ride, Sliema, St. Julians, the Malta International Airport and Victoria in Gozo. We also operate a number of express routes which are designated with an "X"; these have limited stops and operate to and from the Airport from different localities. Bus schedules and timetables typically in June and October, due to changes in Summer and Winter services. Night services also operate differently, so please be sure to check the correct schedule.

We offer a varied range of bus cards and bus tickets that are designed to suit your needs. Whether you are regular travellers or not, we have a bus card that is suitable for you. Our bus cards save you time and money and make it easier to travel around Malta and Gozo.

The personalised tallinja cards are designed to offer regular travellers with the best value besides the facility to top up with credit very easily. You can register for your personalised tallinja cards here.

We also have other cards available which can be used immediately without the need to register. The Explore Flex card has been designed to allow our customers more flexibility as well as offer a wide variety of product including sightseeing options. This travel card can be purchased from all our Sales Offices and the automated card-dispensing machines across the islands. By linking this Explore Flex card on the Tallinja App you may have even more services available to purchase, amongst which is the Hop On Hop Off Citysightseeing Malta bus tour, Harbour Cruises, etc..

We also have the 7-Day Explore card,  providing unlimited travel for one week whilst the 12 Single Day Journeys card offers flexibility with reduced fares. You may purchase the Explore card, and 12 Single Day Journeys card from any one of our Sales and Information Offices as well as from a number of partner resellers across Malta and Gozo.
