Malta Public Transport will be operating special services to facilitate travel for passengers attending the upcoming San Girgor Feast in Marsaxlokk and Festa Frawli in Mġarr, ensuring convenient connections to the locations of these traditional celebrations.
On the occasion of the San Girgor Feast, being celebrated on Wednesday 8th April, additional services will operate between Valletta and Marsaxlokk. Route 85 (towards Marsaxlokk) and TD10 (towards Valletta) will run at regular intervals throughout the day, providing increased capacity and improved connectivity for passengers travelling to and from the event.
The morning service towards Marsaxlokk will run between 9:20 am and 11:40 am with departures every 20 minutes. In the afternoon, the bus service will run from 12:35pm to 15:35. Returns to Valletta will commence at 10:05 am till 12:25 pm, and between 13:20 and 16:20 in the afternoon.
For Festa Frawli in Mġarr, being celebrated on Sunday 12th April, Malta Public Transport will operate a dedicated shuttle service and additional trips to and from Valletta.
The shuttle service will run between Ta’ Qali, Rabat Terminus, Infetti Road and Mġarr and will operate every 30 minutes between 10:00 am and 15:00. The shuttle service from Mġarr to Ta’ Qali will operate every 30 minutes between 11:00 am and 18:00.
In addition, Route X44 will operate extended services between Valletta and Mġarr, offering direct connections for passengers travelling from the capital. This route will operate alongside Route 44 that offers a regular service between Valletta and Għajn Tuffieħa via Mġarr. Services will run at frequent intervals throughout the day, with return trips scheduled into the evening.
All holders of a personalised Tallinja Card may travel free of charge on regular and special services. Passengers without a valid card may purchase a ticket on board, at the cost of €2 for the regular day journeys, or €3 for special services. Both cash and contactless payment methods are accepted.
