Malta Public Transport is increasing bus service frequencies throughout Carnival weekend, between 13th and 15th February, to accommodate the expected increase in passenger demand during the Carnival celebrations both in Valletta and Nadur.
For Valletta Carnival, several routes serving the capital will operate with extended hours and increased frequencies on Sunday, while the routes connecting to Ċirkewwa, St Paul’s Bay and St Julian’s will also offer enhanced services on Saturday.
Special arrangements will also be made available for the popular Nadur Carnival in Gozo, with additional services operating throughout the weekend. Direct bus services will link Victoria and Nadur at regular intervals, complemented by shuttle services operating between the Mġarr Ferry Terminal and Nadur in line with ferry arrivals. Late-night return services will be provided to all localities in Gozo via routes 801 to 806, ensuring connectivity across the island after the celebrations.
The dedicated Nadur Carnival routes will serve Xagħra and Marsalforn, Xewkija, Sannat, Munxar and Xlendi, Kerċem and St Lucia, San Lawrenz, Għarb, Għasri and Żebbuġ, Għajnsielem and Mġarr, as well as Qala.
Special routes S41 to Valletta and S222 to Sliema will operate from the Ċirkewwa terminal according to demand.
All holders of a personalised Tallinja Card may travel free of charge on day, night and special services. Passengers without a valid card may purchase a ticket on board, at the cost of €2 for day journeys, or €3 for special and night services. Both cash and contactless payment methods are accepted.
