Malta Public Transport is announcing the provision of public transportation services for two exciting summer events - the Farsons Beer Festival in Ta' Qali and the Ghaxaq Music Festival.
The much-awaited Farsons Beer Festival, hosted in the vibrant ambience of Ta' Qali, is set to take place from the 27th of July until the 5th of August. To support festival attendees in their travels, Malta Public Transport has established special transportation routes with a comprehensive schedule, ensuring connectivity to various destinations.
The following special routes have been arranged for the Farsons Beer Festival:
- Ta' Qali to Bugibba: Buses will depart every 60 minutes from 22:00hrs to 01:00hrs, totalling 4 trips. The route will pass through Mosta, Burmarrad, and Bugibba.
- Ta' Qali to St Julian's: Departures will occur every 60 minutes from 22:00hrs to 01:00hrs, with 4 trips in total. The route will pass through Attard, Mriehel Bypass, Regional Road, and St. Julian's.
- Ta' Qali to Birzebbugia: Buses will depart every 60 minutes from 22:00hrs to 24:00hrs, totalling 3 trips. The route will include stops at Attard, Birkirkara, Fleur De Lys, Hamrun, Paola, Bormla, Zabbar, Fgura, Zejtun, and Birzebbugia.
The Ghaxaq Music Festival promises an incredible lineup, featuring "The Wailers" on the 27th of July and the renowned Italian Singer Marco Masini with his band on the 29th of July. To facilitate access to the Ghaxaq Music Festival, Malta Public Transport has organized the following special services:
- Three Extra Route 88 buses from Valletta at 19:00hrs, 19:30hrs, and 20:00hrs on both festival days.
- Special Service S88 from Ghaxaq Bus Stop 1653 Telleritu to Valletta, with departures at 00:10hrs, 00:25hrs, and 00:40hrs. The S88 route will pass through Zejtun, Bulebel, Tarxien, Paola, Marsa Dicembru Tlettax Road, and finally, arrive in Valletta.
The Special Services are part of the free public transport initiative which is aimed at encouraging the use of public transportation. All personalised Tallinja Card holders can therefore travel free of charge, while cash tickets at €3 per passenger will also be available for any passengers who do not have a valid Tallinja Card.
The S88 route to the Ghaxaq Music Festival is not included in the Free Transport initiative. Tallinja Card holders can benefit from a reduced rate of €2.50 when paying with their personalised Tallinja Card, whereas those opting for cash tickets can purchase them at €3.00 per passenger.
