Malta Public Transport announces a special public transport service during the 16th edition of the International Fireworks Festival, to ease travel to and from the festival which will take place on three nights.
On Saturday 22 April 2017 the festival will be held in Xagħra, Gozo. There will be a shuttle service from Mġarr Ferry to Xagħra between 19:00 and 21:00; and from the festival back to Mġarr Ferry between 23:30 and 00:30, according to demand. Route 322 from Mġarr Ferry to Xagħra and Route 307 from Rabat (Victoria) to Xagħra will operate according to the normal schedule.
During the festival in Marsaxlokk, which will be held on Friday 28 April 2017, routes 81, 85, 119 and 210 will operate according to the normal schedule. After the festival ends, there will be special services from Marsaxlokk to Valletta, St. Julian’s and Buġibba between 23:15 and 23:45.
On Sunday 30 April 2017, the finale will be held at Valletta. For this event, the service will operate from all localities to Valletta Terminus as per the normal schedule. When the event is over, special services will operate between 23:00 and 00:30 from Valletta Terminus to the following routes:
N13: Pietà – Imsida – Gżira – Sliema (Ferries) – St. Julian’s – Paceville
S10: Raħal Ġdid (Paola) – Isla (Senglea) – Bormla (Cospicua) – Birgu (Vittoriosa) – Kalkara – Xgħajra
S20: Pietà – Imsida – Rue D’Argens – Mrabat – San Ġwann – Kappara
S30: Pietà – Imsida – Qroqq Skate Park – Birkirkara (Bypass) – Iklin – Għargħur – Naxxar – Mosta - Buġibba
S40: Pietà – Imsida – Birkirkara (valley) – Lija – Mosta – Mġarr – Għajn Tuffieħa
S41: Pietà – Imsida – Mosta – St. Paul’s Bay – Xemxija – Mellieħa – Ċirkewwa
S50: Ħamrun – Santa Venera – Fleur De Lys – Attard – Rabat – Imtarfa – Dingli
S60: Ħamrun – Marsa P&R – Qormi – Żebbuġ – Siġġiewi
S70: Luqa – Kirkop – Safi – Żurrieq – Qrendi – Imqabba
S80: Marsa P&R – Raħal Ġdid (Paola) – Tarxien – Santa Luċija – Birżebbuġa – Għaxaq – Gudja
S90: Raħal Ġdid (Paola) – Fgura – Żabbar – Marsaskala
The fares will be as follows: €3.00 in cash on-board the bus; €2.50 when paying with a tallinja card; two journeys when paying with the 12 Single Day Journeys card; and there will be no extra charge when using the Explore Card.
