Malta Public Transport is launching a competition to mark the European Mobility Week between September 16 and 22. Users can participate by posting a selfie when using their Tallinja cards to board the bus or the ferry, or to ride the Tallinja Bikes. This will give them the chance to win a full year of free bus use and a tablet worth €300.
To participate in the competition, all customers need to do is tag @tallinja in their Facebook and Instagram photos and label them using hashtag #mixandmove. The best-liked entries will win the competition.
This edition of the European Mobility Week focuses on intermodality as a smarter method of moving around the city. Malta Public Transport is a champion of the system, introducing an easy way to travel using bus, ferry, and now, the Tallinja Bike.
Close to 60,000 commuters have made use of the Tallinja card to make ferry trips to and from Valletta since the system was launched exactly one year ago. The measure contributed towards reducing road travel around the harbour areas.
As part of its intermodal transport strategy, Malta Public Transport has also recently unveiled the Tallinja Bike in Valletta – an innovative bike-sharing initiative that can be conveniently activated using the same Tallinja card. This new service has already attracted a number of people to try it out. Three stations have already been set up around Valletta with the service expanding swiftly around the Capital city, making short trips truly easy and quick with a modern fleet of e-bikes.
Malta Public Transport is committed to providing practical solutions to bring the benefits of intermodal transport to Malta. Further details on the @Tallinja #mixandmove competition can be found on the Malta Public Transport Facebook Page - Tallinja.
