Malta Public Transport announces special arrangements for Gozo Carnival 2016

Malta Public transport shall be operating extra bus trips during the Gozo carnival weekend to facilitate travel and increase accessibility to the festivities in Nadur.

A shuttle service will operate between Mgarr and Nadur in line with the boat ferry service, while extra trips will also operate from Victoria to Nadur and from Nadur to various localities around Gozo.

“We want to help make the Nadur Carnival a success” said Malta Public Transport Commercial Director, Daniel Grech. “The Gozo carnival has long been a key event on Malta’s entertainment calendar for tourists and locals alike, which is why we are proud to be supporting it”, he added.

Mr Grech said that the extra trips will ease parking problems and traffic congestion, and give all those attending a safe way of returning home after a night of festivities.

A shuttle service from Mgarr to Nadur will run on Friday 5th February and Saturday 6th February.

Extra trips will operate from Victoria to Nadur between 20:00 and midnight on Friday and Saturday, and between 20:00 and 23:00 on Sunday.

In addition, special services will operate from Nadur to all localities in Gozo at 01:00hrs on Friday, between 01:00 and 02:30 on Saturday and at 23:00 on Sunday. These will go to the following locaties:

Xaghra- Marsalform

Xewkija- Sannat- Munxar- Xlendi

Victoria –Kercem - St Lucia

Victoria, San Lawrenz- Gharb- Ghasri-Zebbug

Ghajnsielem- Mgarr

Qala

Those travelling on these special routes can use any of Malta Public Transport’s travel cards.
