Special Public Transport Service for Festa Frawli

Malta Public Transport announces a Special Public Transport Service to ease travel to and from the annual Festa Frawli in Mġarr that will be held on Sunday 2 April 2017.

Festa Frawli is a popular cultural event that includes a variety of food stalls offering strawberry snacks and drinks. During the day those attending will enjoy traditional folk entertainment and other activities.

“Events like the Strawberry Festival are growing in popularity, attracting visitors from all over the island,” declared Daniel Grech the Commercial Director of Malta Public Transport. “Our special service will facilitate this growth in attendance, by making it easier for visitors to travel without having to worry about getting stuck in traffic and finding parking.”

On the day, Malta Public Transport will operate an additional direct service called Route X44 from 10:00 to 15:00 from Valletta to the main square in Mġarr and back to Valletta from 15:00 to 18:00, every 30 minutes. This route will only have stops in Birkirkara (near HSBC) and in Mosta (in Independence Avenue).

The fares for Route X44 will be €3.00 for cash tickets bought on-board the bus; €2.50 when paying with a tallinja card; two journeys when paying with the 12 Single Day Journeys card; and there will be no extra charge when using the Explore Card.

Route 44 will operate as usual from Valletta to Mġarr every 30 minutes, where the usual fares will apply.
