Bus routes change to winter schedule from Sunday, October 10th 

Malta Public Transport announces the change to the winter schedule with effect from Sunday, October 10th. Bus routes have been revised to accommodate passengers' commuting needs, adding extra trips to high-demand routes during peak hours. 

The frequency of the following 10 routes will be increased: 

  • Route 1 between Valletta and Isla
  • Route 4 between Valletta and Bormla
  • Route 16 between Valletta and Swieqi
  • Route 31 between Valletta and Buġibba
  • Route 35 between Valletta and San Ġwann
  • Route 73 between Valletta and Żurrieq
  • Route 84 between Valletta and Żejtun
  • Route 122 between Valletta and Mater Dei
  • Route 133 within Valletta
  • Route 212 between Sliema and Buġibba

 The frequency of the following 12 routes will increase during weekdays:

  • Route 32 between Valletta and Swieqi
  • Route 43 between Valletta and Naxxar
  • Route 47 between Valletta and Mosta
  • Route 48 between Valletta and Buġibba
  • Route 50 between Valletta and Rabat
  • Route 63 between Valletta and Qormi
  • Route 62 between Valletta and Siġġiewi
  • Route 71 between Valletta and Żurrieq
  • Route 72 between Valletta and Qrendi
  • Route 43 between Valletta and Naxxar will operate 34 more trips
  • Route 44 will operate an additional trip between Manikata Ballut and Valletta
  • Route X1A will operate 2 trips between Ċirkewwa and MCAST from Monday to Friday. 

The frequency of the following 20 routes will be increased during the weekend: 

  • Route 2 between Valletta and Birgu
  • Route 3 between Kalkara and Valletta
  • Route 13 between Valletta and Baħar ic-Ċagħaq
  • Route 13A between Valletta and San Ġiljan
  • Route 14 between Pembroke Park and Ride and Valletta
  • Route 51 between Valletta and Mtarfa
  • Route 52 between Valletta and Dingli
  • Route 53 between Rabat and Valletta
  • Route 54 between Attard and Valletta
  • Route 58 between Birkirkara and Valletta
  • Route 58A between Birkirkara and Valletta
  • Route 61 between Valletta and Żebbuġ
  • Route 62 between Qormi and Valletta
  • Route 81/85 between Marsaxlokk and Valletta
  • Route 82 between Birżebbuġa and Valletta
  • Route 88 between Gudja and Valletta
  • Route 91 between Marsaskala and Valletta
  • Route 133 within Valletta
  • Route 186 between Buġibba and Valletta
  • Route 83 will be included in Valletta in the morning trip on weekends. 

During weekdays, routes 14, 41, 42, 82, 310 and 322 will revert to the Winter schedule, while routes 310 and 322 will revert to the Winter schedule on Sunday. Routes 223 and 225 will operate on an hourly basis for the Winter period during weekdays and Sundays. 

Extra morning trips on the X4 route will be operated, while route X1A will be re-introduced to operate 2 trips in the morning between Ċirkewwa and MCAST. The summertime extended journeys to beaches will return to their regular routes.
