B’tal-Linja għall-Istrina on December 22

21/12/2018

‘B’tal-Linja għall-Istrina’ has returned for its third edition as Malta Public Transport will donate journey fares to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. Half the fare paid by every passenger travelling by bus on Saturday December 22 will go directly to L-Istrina, with no extra charge to commuters.

“Malta Public Transport is proud to once again contribute towards L-Istrina and make a difference in people’s lives,” announced Konrad Pulé, Malta Public Transport General Manager. “L-Istrina is not simply a fundraising event, but a national festival of solidarity and we believe that the business community has an opportunity to find innovative ways to support this meaningful event. Last year we managed to raise €38,000 from this initiative, together with donations from our colleagues, and we hope to exceed it this year with the help of all those people that will use the bus on Saturday.”

Malta Public Transport is offering half the fare of each journey paid by Tallinja cards or cash tickets directly to the cause. Passengers using the Adult, the Student and the Gozo Tallinja cards pay €0.75c for the trip, while holders of a Concession and a Child Tallinja card pay €0.25c. Cash tickets can be bought on board the bus at €1.50c.

Funds collected through this initiative will be added to the donations that Malta Public Transport employees have contributed throughout the year.
